Scope & Content This collection is comprised of correspondence, photographs, clippings, and stock certificates owned by Knute Ekman.
Biographical Information Knute Ekman was born in Växjö, Småland, Sweden in 1870 and emigrated to the United States with his parents in 1887, staying a short time in St. Paul, Minnesota and then moving to Lindstrom, Chisago County, Minnesota. He later served as the president of the Gateway State Bank and Swedish-American National Bank, both in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
