|Title||Jax Anders Andersson (Andrew Jackson) Collection|
|Scope & Content||
Family portraits of a Swedish immigrant and his wife Kallur Anna who came to the US in the early 20th century. Originally from Rättvik Sweden, they settled Minnesota as Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jackson in 1909 and had three children. Kallur Anna died shortly after the birth of her third child.
The collection has seven identified photos of Jax and Kallur and a couple of Jax's relatives. One is of Kallur in her coffin with the family around her. None of the rest of the photos, all portraits and wedding photos, are identified. The cartes de visite were made in Rättvik, many of them showing women in costume. Most of the Minnesota portraits are by Petri and Svenson of Minneapolis.
