Scope & Content This collection is comprised of financial records and notes, membership lists, meeting minutes, club songbooks, correspondence, and other records of the Hälsinge Föreningen's Minnesota/Twin Cities chapter.
Biographical Information The Hälsinge Föreningen was a Swedish heritage society for those who immigrated particularly to the Midwest United States. The first chapter was begun in 1926 in Chicago, Illinois, followed by Twin Cities (1931) and Duluth (1938) chapters. This collection primarily focuses on records of the Twin Cities chapter, which appears to have served primarily as a social club for the preservation of Swedish heritage and to facilitate social connections between members.
