Scope & Content Collection is comprised of official documents, clippings, correspondence, ephemera, keepsakes, books, photographs, photographic negatives, and a scrapbook related to the life of Ebba Christine Anderson between 1948-1950. The bulk of the materials relate to Ebba's return visit to Rätansbyn in the province of Jämtland, Sweden, to visit her family in 1948; materials include ephemera documenting her trip on the Swedish American Line boat, reciepts, postcards, clippings, documents related to her trip, and a scrapbook of postcards of Sweden. Other materials include correspondence, official documents such as Ebba's passport, photographs, photographic negatives, clippings, books on Sweden and Swedish, Swedish psalm book and New Testament, and other keepsakes relating to various activities from her life in Minneapolis.
Biographical Information Ebba Christine Anderson (born Kristina Modén) was born in Rätansbyn, Jämtland, Sweden in 1888 and emigrated to the United States in 1910, settling in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her occupation was listed as secretary or housewife on different documents. In 1948 she traveled back for a visit to her family in Sweden, returning to Minnesota after traveling through several cities. She had family that stayed in Jämtland and other relatives living in Hershey, Nebraska.
